2 Stanford experts say AI won’t transform healthcare until the 2030s : ArtificialInteligence

With healthcare in particular, I believe the issue is not with the algorithms, but with tight privacy regulations around medical data, data hoarding/data lakes, and a general disdain for artificial intelligence in medicine by both providers and patients that results in a lack of acceptance.

Healthcare privacy regulations exist for a reason, of course, but the effect of stifling medical AI research is really a side effect of the letter of the law and not the spirit; I personally do not care if my medical data was used to train a medical algorithm, and I feel many others would agree.
