Technology is a perfectly acceptable tool for parents to use. I do agree that it doesn’t replace parenting, I’m just saying that it’s one of the tools you use to help you parent.
TBH having cameras in my smart home system today allowed me to watch my son play quietly, while I do his laundry, and cook his lunch, and shovel the snow from our driveway. I can talk to him through them, I know when he needs a drink or potty. I even talk to him about what he’s building through the camera while I make us lunch and comment on reddit. Once I’m done I’ll go in and spend some face to face time with him but daddy needed to get shit done and technology helped me do that while properly supervising my child.
